About author:Zhang Yongjun, PhD, is an associate professor at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT). His research interests include broadband network access and transport technologies. He has been in charge of and participated in three projects funded by the National High-Tech Research and Development Plan of China ("863" Program) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and was awarded with three national department-level Science and Technology Progress Prizes. He has published one book in English and 30 technical papers.
Yao Yu is a PhD candidate at BUPT. His research directions are next generation optical network technologies, including optical network design, and flow control and resource distribution. His research is focused on protection and recovery technologies for next generation packet transport networks.
Gu Wanyi is a professor and doctoral advisor at BUPT. She has been engaged in the teaching and studying of optical fiber communications for many years. Her research interests include high-speed, ultra long-haul optical fiber communication system, intelligent optical networks and new generation optical node equipment. She was awarded the national title of the Middle-Aged Science and Technology Expert with Outstanding Contribution in 1992 and the National Excellent Teacher title in 2001. She gained five national department-level Science and Technology Progress Prizes. She has published over 100 academic papers.
