Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols facilitates a secure framework for identity authentication, data encryption, and message integrity verification. However, with the recent development in quantum computing technology, the security of conventional key-based SSL/TLS protocols faces vulnerabilities. In this paper, we propose a scheme by integrating the quantum key into the SSL/TLS framework. Furthermore, the application of post-quantum algorithms is used to enhance and complement the existing encryption suites. Experimental results show that the proposed SSL/TLS communication system based on quantum keys exhibits high performance in latency and throughput. Moreover, the proposed system showcases good resilience against quantum attacks.

Converged communication and radar sensing systems have attained increasing attention in recent years. The development of converged radar-data systems is reviewed, with a special focus on millimeter/terahertz systems as a promising trend. Firstly, we present historical development and convergence technology concept for communication-radar systems, and highlight some emerging technologies in this area. We then provide an updated and comprehensive survey of several converged systems operating in different microwave and millimeter frequency bands, by providing some selective typical communication and radar sensing systems. In this part, we also summarize and compare the system performance in terms of maximum range/range resolution for radar mode and Bit Error Rate (BER) /wireless distance for communication mode. In the last section, the convergence of millimeter/terahertz communication-radar system is concluded by analyzing the prospect of millimeter-wave/terahertz technologies in providing ultrafast data rates and high resolution for our smart future.

Abstract90)      PDF (431KB)(82)       Save
Packet scheduling algorithm is the key technology to guarantee Quality of Service (QoS ) and balance the fairness between users in broadband Wireless Metropolitan Area Network (WMAN ). Based on the research of Proportional Fairness (PF ) algorithm and Modified Largest Weighted Delay First (M-LWDF ) algorithm, a new packet scheduling algorithm for real-time services in broadband WMAN, called Enhanced M-LWDF (EM-LWDF ), was proposed. The algorithm phases in new information to measure the load of service queues and updates the state parameters in real-time way, which remarkably improves system performance.Simulation results show that comparing with M-LWDF algorithm, the proposed algorithm is advantageous in performances of queuing delay and fairness while guaranteeing system throughput.
